Husky Oil China Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Husky Energy Inc. which is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Husky Energy Inc. is one of Canada's largest energy and energy-related companies. The Company has almost $21 billion in assets and employs approximately 4,100 employees. Husky Oil China Ltd. is one of the few foreign oil companies in China with the most daily oil production and the largest exploration acreage.

The Company has so far signed multiple Production Sharing Contracts with CNOOC in the exploration blocks in the East and the South China Seas. Husky holds 100 percent exploration interest in those blocks and also has a 40% working interest with CNOOC in the Wenchang 13-1/2 offshore oil fields.

In June 2006, Husky has made a significant hydrocarbon discovery at Liwan 3-1-1 in Block 29/26 in the South China Sea. The discovery could contain a potential recoverable resource of four to six trillion cubic feet of natural gas and as such, would be one of the largest natural gas discoveries offshore China to date.

2007 was another excellent year for Husky with annual net earnings of $3.2 billion up 18% over 2006. Cash flow from operations improved by 21% to $5.4 billion in 2007.
