SUMMARY OF ROLE:
As part of a multi-disciplinary E&E Operations team the geophysicist will be responsible for all aspects of the seismic interpretation and related matters for projects and new business in their allocated area. This will include involvement in the overseeing the design/acquisition of new seismic data, interpretation of the various datasets to develop well locations, field maps and provide input into the construction of field geological and simulation models.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
¡ñ Identifying and evaluate prospects, plan and supervise geophysical studies and operations in the companies¡¯ operated acreage.
¡ñ Work with the well planning team to design wells, and the operational team to assist in the drilling process
¡ñ Advising E&E Manager on geophysical aspects of new business opportunities.
¡ñ Identifying and assessing the most appropriate sources of data and taking steps to capture and quality assure all available data.
¡ñ Interpreting, mapping and integrating geophysical data gathered.
¡ñ Integrating geophysical data to aid reservoir characterization to define reservoir uncertainty and risk, and including application of seismic attribute analysis where appropriate.
¡ñ To assist in the characterization of reservoirs for modeling (geomodels, simulation) and surveillance by integrating with other disciplines within the team as appropriate.
¡ñ Define subsurface well targets and compiling well proposals with clear justification and objectives.
¡ñ Update the seismic inversion data cube by inputting new delineation & development wells data in timely manner, provide management with new proposals on well locations and targets.
¡ñ To be fully aware of reservoir uncertainties and risk and quantify these in the volumetric calculation process.
¡ñ To be a member of the Joint Operations Group at the development stage
Certifications ¨C Academic :
¡ñ BSc or higher in Geophysics
¡ñ At least 12 years of industry experience
¡ñ Demonstrated sound knowledge of seismic acquisition and interpretation, with a focus towards offshore field development
¡ñ Working knowledge of geology and petrophysics
¡ñ Detailed knowledge of Chinese Petroleum Industry
¡ñ Fluency in English ¨Cboth oral and written
